Blowout Lines and plug returns/skimmer lines, drain & winterize pool equipment,remove ladder/handrails, install winter cover & shut off power.

It is time to drain your pool and refill if it has been 3-5 years as your pool water could become saturated with dissolved solids causing cloudy water that cannot clear. As water evaporates these pool solids remain on your pool liner causing hardness to build up on liner. Draining and refilling allows you to start with fresh water.

Filter sand has a lifespan of three to four years. Over the course of a few years, contaminants build up in the sand. But eventually, all that extra gunk builds up so much that it makes the filter prone to clogs and cause pressure buildup and cloudy water that won't seem to clear. If your just opening your pool for the season and your sand is older than three years it is best to change the sand at the beginning of your swimming season and be ready to go!
